I am a cycling enthusiast and owner of a number of hybrid bikes over the years. I’ve tried and tested dozens of the latest hybrid bikes to give you my top buys .

So what is a Hybrid cycle?

A Hybrid bike  takes the best bits from a mountain bike and a racing bike and combines them into a robust bike that rides swiftly on the road and that is easy and comfortable to ride. They generally sport flat handlebars, tough frames and either multipurpose or smooth tyres. In short its perfect for riding around town or for the daily commute but it won’t mind bumping up the odd kerb and won’t be too out of place on grass or a country path.

As with mountain bikes there are literally hundreds of different models to choose from ranging in price from around £200 to over £2000. I’ll give you my top three mens hybrid bikes in three separate catagories – entry level, mid range and premium.

Check out my buyers guide  to help you decide the type of hybrid thats right for you. Then go to my top buys  for my honest reviews and links directly to the retailers website.

I can recommend a few different bike retailers which all have excellent websites where you can order online and expect a helpful and expert aftersales service. Evans will deliver fully assembled or you can pick up at their local store.
